Weekend 3v3 Summer League

Dates:

2 eval skates – June 27 and 28

Off July 4 weekend

10 games July 11 – Aug 9 (5 weekends). 

Semi Finals Aug 15

Finals Aug 16

-Each team will have 2-3 ice times per weekend.

-Games will be held on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Format:

Rosters  - 9 skaters, 1-2 goalies

3 on 3 (6 on bench) Benches are marked to fit 6 players, 6 ft apart.

Penalties – first penalty on a team results in 3v2.  Second penalty is a penalty shot if still shorthanded.  This prevents more than one player in the box.

Penalties are 90 seconds

Games are 3, (15) minute periods, running time, except for last 2 minutes if within 2 goals

Scoreboard will never show more than 5 goal difference

No checking at any level – play the puck, not the body.

Checking penalty comes with 10 minute misconduct

Lower is 2011-2009 (Squirts and 1st year Peewes)
Middle is 2008-2006 (2nd year Peewees and Bantams)
Upper is 2005-2001 (U16s and U18s)

Patriots Families: 

Information on the Summer 3 on 3 League has been posted on the Patriots website.  This is open to House/REC and travel players.  We are only taking 54 skaters and 6 goalies at each of the 3 levels (as well as 30 8Us).  What that means is that a couple levels are nearly full before we start because Spring Registrations were shifted to this league as priority.  

We are taking all safety measures we can to include social distancing on the ice (3v3) as well as the bench.  I even built a water bottle ledge behind the players on the bench so that heavy breathing or coughing does not go in the direction of water bottles as it usually would. 

The way this league has been set up, honestly, seems like an absolute blast.  Lots of shots, lots of ice, lots of SPACE in 3 on 3 full ice hockey.  If you have questions please email Zach Vit at zvit@pwice.com.
