Join the fun and support a good cause on Dec. 8 when the George Mason University Patriots Ice Hockey team hosts its annual charity game, which this year will benefit the Center for American Military Music Opportunities (CAMMO).

Attendees will have a unique opportunity to hear Washington Capitals anthem singer Caleb Green sing the national anthem at the Prince William Ice Center in Woodbridge, Va., prior to puck drop at 3 p.m.

There also will be raffles and a silent auction beginning at 2:30 p.m. featuring autographed sports memorabilia from local professional sports teams, including the Washington Capitals, and experience packages, such as dinner certificates and theatre and sports tickets.

The fundraiser will feature an exciting in-house rivalry match-up, the Mason Patriots vs the Potomac Patriots Premier Junior Hockey team in an exhibition game. The home rink for both teams is Prince William Ice Center.

All proceeds from the event will go directly to CAMMO.

CAMMO's mission is to create music-based therapeutic programming and outlets for service members, veterans and family members, and train and educate them in music career opportunities as well as help with artist development. CAMMO's most recognizable singing group is Voices of Service, featuring Caleb Green, which recently made it to the semifinals on the popular TV show, "America's Got Talent."

"Caleb Green has long been a pillar of the D.C. sports community, and we’re thrilled to partner with him and CAMMO to support their programs for veterans, active service members and their families," said Mason Head Coach Steven Hyjek. "We are very pleased that the Potomac Patriots will join us in this effort."

Tickets are on sale now ($5 for students and $10 for adults) and can be purchased from any member of the hockey team or coaching staff or online through Eventbrite.

Since 2010, George Mason’s charity game has raised approximately $20,000 annually for local causes through corporate sponsorships, raffle and silent auction item donations, ticket sales and financial gifts.
