Patriots Families:

My name is Bailey Coons, and I’m excited to announce that I have accepted the position of the House/REC Hockey Lead for the Potomac Patriots.  I wanted to take a few minutes and introduce myself and give everyone a little background on my playing career and education.

To start, I’m from Burnsville, Minnesota. I started my hockey career when I was 3 years old, and moved to Casper, Wyoming to play AAA high school hockey. Following high school I decided to continue playing hockey in the NCAA where I attended Becker College in Worcester, Massachusetts to start the inaugural season for the Hawks. I have since graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Sports Management along with a minor in Marketing. I completed my college career in 2019 where I was named to the first century club playing 102 games, honored with being added to Becker history with scoring the first goal in our very first game in 2015, awarded with the all-time scoring record and tying with a teammate for the all-time points record as well with 52 points.

I’m looking forward to starting my career with the Potomac Patriots as the new House/REC Hockey Lead.  In addition to the duties associated with that position I will be working to help grow the Girls Hockey program within our organization.  You’ll also find me working as a Manager on Duty and Hockey Instructor for the Prince William Ice Center.  RJ [Zeigler] and I have had several  discussions where he has gone over his continuing plans to assist and partner with local non-profits, schools, and businesses to help grow the game at the grass roots – both for girls and boys.  These are plans I look forward to assisting with as I get started in my new position, in addition to continuing to provide the best experience we can for every young Patriots player.

I can be reached by email at  Thanks to everyone who has already seen me around the rink and congratulated me!  Go Patriots!

Yours in Hockey,

Bailey Coons
