Press Release

June 12, 2017

The Potomac Patriots and Tahoe Prep Hockey Academy finalized an official affiliation today.  The innovative business deal, aimed at providing Tahoe Prep hockey players an even higher rate of development and exposure, takes effect immediately.  As an affiliate member of the USPHL, the Tahoe Prep hockey team will have the opportunity to take part in USPHL Showcases at the U18 AAA level at multiple events during the regular season.  In addition, select players will be rostered with the Potomac Patriots Junior teams and have the opportunity to travel east during the season to participate in “a week in the life of a junior hockey player”.  This experience will give the Patriots the opportunity to evaluate a player in games and practices, while also giving the player a taste for the junior hockey life.  “These additional USPHL opportunities augment an already top-notch experience on and off the ice at the Tahoe Prep Academy,” remarked Patriots General Manager RJZeigler.  “The effort Leo [Fenn] is making to really set the bar with his program is something we are very excited to be a part of.”  The Patriots will ice Junior teams at the USPHL Elite and Premier levels this season while also carrying multiple USPHL teams at the youth level.

"We are very excited for our Prep Academy to become part of the USPHL as this will provide a high-level of competition and tremendous additional exposure for our student-athletes," stated Tahoe Prep Academy President Leo Fenn. "We are honored to be presented with the opportunity to become affiliated with the Potomac Patriots. RJ  Zeigler runs an elite organization with passion and one that our students will also be proud to be part of."
